about lee

Hi, I’m Lee Wolfe, an Australian artist who works primarily with acrylic wash on raw cotton canvas.

After many years of casually pursuing my love of art, I committed to full time painting in 2024 to help navigate a deeply challenging time. Through painting, I found not only a sense of inner-peace and purpose, but I was actively transforming pain and despair into beauty.

From this time was born Inside This Soft World (ITSW), a peaceful collection of acrylic abstract landscape paintings on raw canvas. The first of an ever open and evolving collection, ITSW is rooted in the natural world with expansive skies, softened horizons and subtle light.

While I value creating my peaceful and gentle landscape paintings, I also prioritise indulging my inner child with pops of colour, by feeling my way through exploratory artworks with any media my heart desires in the moment. Be it gouache, oil pastel, acrylic, graphite, digital illustration… these solo exploratory art sessions are a way for me to practise being unbound by pressure and expectations, simply making for the sake of making. I find that these pieces are often an abstraction of my own necessary journey towards expressive freedom, which in turn has been a healing balm for my own emotional landscape.

Learning to trust the creative process, and jumping between creative mediums has been an incredibly humbling and informative experience that I continue to grow through.

I hope that art -by any and all- helps people

pause and feel,

to notice the beauty around them and inside of them.

I hope they find peace in presence,

 and feel seen and comforted.

Art nourishes us mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

May my art serve you in the way that you need most.

Lee
